STORY

Lacie: 00:59

Fairies. Have you heard of them? Let's take a moment to discuss what these Fae things are. Let me start off by saying I have no ill opinion of the Fae. But if Doctor Apples asks you, I hate them, okay? I'm not talking about your cute little tinkerbell fairy. I'm talking about the mean one.

They're the beings outside of this earth that have various abilities. They range in various sizes and have different strengths. Some tiny, others human like, like mermaids, trolls, and other beings. Not all groups like the other. Some fly and are pretty, while others are meaner than Doctor Apples.

They're like humans, but they know their ability. They're known to be immortal beings. You cannot see them in their true form here on earth, but they have been known to take on the appearance of other things, like butterflies, birds, and other creatures in this realm. In fact, Doctor Apples remembers his first encounter with a fairy when he was around eight years of age. It was nothing fancy. He was walking with his mother when a yellow butterfly landed on his face. There was nothing particular about this butterfly, but he sensed it was observing him.

Lacie: 02:39

He froze in awe. The butterfly flapped its wings on his nose. His mother giggled.

Miss Barule: 02:49

Lucky you, pum the Fae watch over you.

Lacie: 02:53

Eventually, it flew away. It takes a lot of skill and various techniques to see the Fae in their natural environment. One has to cross from this dimension in order to view their true form. With Doctor Apple's ability to pull things out of other dimensions.

Dr. Apples: 03:13

Gotcha.

Lacie: 03:17

It's no wonder why Fae, keep an eye out for him.

Dr. Apples: 03:20

Come here.

Lacie: 03:26

I like to discuss the Fae's immortality with Doctor Apples. As he believes, with enough efforts, they are capable of becoming mortal. To understand the phase life force would mean he could control how and where it could be dispersed. This meant he could take the life force from a Fae and give that power to someone ailing. Like his mother.

Dr. Apples: 03:55

My mother.

Lacie: 03:57

He believed Fae were the key to the cure for his mother. Now, this isn't the only explanation behind his obsession with the Fae, but it made for wonderful reasoning when he cooked one. Many items have been inside the gumbo pot. Items that were surprisingly delicious, disgusting, some of which have turned the gumbo orange and thick like putty. But none were as enticing, riveting, or heart pounding as Fae. The mere topic of Fae makes Doctor Apples’ testosterone rise. His dilated eyes widen and his brows seem permanently stapled high on his forehead.

His sense of hearing heightens. The hunt is the reward. Dopamine is released. He can taste their blood from memory. Their blood feels like transcendence. He feels connected to them. His brain is strategic, he's emotionless. At the climax of the hunt he reaches a sense of euphoria, his mind racing with ideas to execute the capture. Because of this, Doctor Apple's curiosity and mischief eventually turned into madness. He always took a turn for the worse whenever he was around Fae.

He didn't feel like he had enough self control. He had instinctual, animalistic aggression towards the fakine and they sensed it. You can imagine the conflict between Miss Barule's wishes and Doctor Apples’ desires.

Lacie: 05:47

So whenever Miss Barule detected Doctor Apples threw a fairy or two in the pot, she would scold him. She was rarely inaccurate about her accusations over his antics with the Fae. Her reaction was not for the sensitive of souls.
